... 'saaaaall happenin' at MP HQ. First off... ![]() Adam is launching his own sneaker!Adam Freeland has been working with Etnies over the past 2 years developing our own very limited edition shoe. There will only be very limited 50 pairs available. Info will go up on the Marine Parade Website very soon as to how you can be one of the lucky 50. New releasesNew tracks upcoming from the Evils, plus new signings Sly Fi and Stone Lions. There's also some new tuneage from the man himself Mr Freeland, with re-mixes from our own Evil Nine and young german electro head Daniel Taylor, so watch out for them! Finally, we're hearing someone called the Plump DJs are reworking an Evil Nine track (possibly Devil Stuff), so we sit and wait with our fingers crossed... ![]() Pearl Shot comes out with Switch remix...... as the Evils infiltrate the new world. Their debut album 'You Can Be Special too' holds court as the best album of its genre, in the history of mankind. It's won outrageously flattering reviews, Album Of The Year at the Breaks Poll Awards, and the hearts of the conscious on planet earth. The last single, 'Crooked featuring Aesop Rock', has become a monumental classic (you can check the video here.) Pearl Shot features the belly chucklingly smutty flow of Juice Aleem (New Flesh/Gamma/Freeland/Big Dada). We believe Juice should set up a commune and call himself a Guru, he's one of our favourite vocalist/emceeee/whaddevayawannacallit and we worship him. We've also got a bombastic stompa of a remix from Switch who got us all juiced up with their Chemical Brothers remixes. It's got that old Hip House chug but with that crazy next level twist. The 12" or digital versions will get a pre release through the shop on the site on July 4th. ![]() Sly Fi- Wild Wild ChildWhat to say about this record?
More about them in the next submarine newsletter... ![]() Adam Freeland mixes a 'Back 2 Mine' albumAdam has just finished compiling and mixing the latest in the legendary 'Back 2 Mine" series, featuring some of his favourite artists such as ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Autolux, Interpol, TV On The Radio, Boards Of Canada, PJ Harvey, and many more... It really is something special, a total excursion from what he is know for. In his own words: "Its been thoroughly enjoyable to be able to put together a lot of my favorite artists from the world beyond the dance floor on a mix. Its based on a mix tape I did for a friend of all my favorite tracks that I'm listening to at home right now." 'Back 2 Mine' will be avail in late July through the Marine Parade website and good record stores. ![]() Marine Parade Night at FabricThis coming Friday July 8th is the Marine Parade night at Fabric in London and we have the first ever UK performance of Bassbin Twins live!!! Bassbin Twins, Adam Freeland, Evil Nine, Will Saul and Plump DJ's: How's that for a line up! Bassbin Twins are the original breakbeat pioneers form San Francisco. Adam admits it was the Bassbin Twins that are largely responsible for his founding love of breaks; he put two of their tracks on his 1st Coastal Breaks compilation in '96, and they are still a cut above all the rest today - see last years remix of 'Crooked' for proof. 'Nuff said. Will Saul has just release a fantastic debut album on Simple records, which is well worth tracking down. For more on what's on at Fabric, check out their site. For other Marine Parade related shows, check out our site. And just by the by: Adam will be going to Burning Man this year, so expect mayhem! ![]() 'Fever' video - world exclusive here!Adam Freeland's mix of Sarah Vaughn's 'Fever' for the Verve Remixed series has has huge amounts of daytime radio play all over the world and become a hit in various territories. Verve are about to release a video, but you can check a sneak preview at http://www.fuckinghappy.com/ Other things rocking usMovies
